Snails remind me of the monsoon. Of everpresent drips of rain and the rumble of thunder. Of portentous clouds and overcast skies. Of the smell of fresh earth and raincoats.
I found this nail in one of the wettest regions in the world, the Western Ghats. I was visiting Jog Falls, the tallest waterfall in South India. Truly a sight to behold on clear days, alas for I was there in the middle of the monsoon, with dense fog and neverending rain. Makes you take note of the little things instead, though.
